Fractional leadership is exactly what it sounds like—executives hired for a fraction of their time rather than full-time positions. Instead of bringing on a Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Financial Officer, or Chief Technology Officer to sit in the office every day, companies are hiring them on an as-needed basis. These leaders might oversee strategy for multiple companies at once, working just a few days a week at each.

Do I need a Fractional Leader?
If your organization:
Needs someone who can take an active role in the company, make decisions, or lead teams with cultural project or strategy goals
Has C-Suite staffing needs but lacks the budget for a full-time permanent leader
Is seeking quick establishment of an interim executive
Are experimenting with ways of working to determine leadership roles and responsibilities
Need temporary day-to-day help with advising as well as operational implementation and management across projects and programs
A secured, long term program or portfolio manager for specific initiatives
Then signing a fractional leadership contract with me might be the right choice for you.
What Makes Fractional Leadership Different From Your Other Services?
Most of my services can be categorized as consulting or project management related tasks, or even a combination of both. What makes these services distinct is that they are usually planned predictively to solve a specific problem, plan and execute a project, provide advice or recommendations, and then step away. Where cultural and creative work is concerned, though, sometimes unexpected change and rapid growth make long-term specialized support necessary.
I offer bespoke, agile fractional leadership for organizations with cultural industry connections who need something more. Perhaps after working with me on one or two projects, you wish to secure my time for a longer period to help with a multi-year strategic initiative. Maybe you want to dedicate a position to cultural and creative projects, but lack the full-time budget. You might want me to manage people or teams at your organization, or need staff for an early stage business or organizational venture. It may even be as simple as valuing my expertise, and wanting me to become part of your organization in a formal role.
For situations like these, and many others, I’m pleased to explore the potential of a fractional leadership agreement with your organization.
FAQ
-
In the same way you would contract me for one of my other consulting or project management services, we would discuss your needs over a discovery call and determine the necessary terms. Most fractional leadership engagements fall under a 1099 contract.
-
I’m thrilled you’ve asked! While I’m absolutely willing, it depends on several factors. Like with any international working agreement, securing the appropriate visa sponsorship or employment contract type may be necessary for compliance. During our conversations, I highly recommend consulting a lawyer and/or an HR professional to best determine how we can work together legally and effectively.

Noncompete agreements have largely been banned by the FTC after September 2024, and are also not valid or enforceable under the independent contractor agreements I use to conduct business.
However, if you have concerns related to confidentiality, solicitation, or company property, these and other similar issues can often be addressed explicitly in your contract through other clauses.

We can determine whether fractional leadership or another service is right for you leading up to and during the discovery call.
